connor's football banquet was today. he received a ginormous trophy. johnny also took connor to sign up for spring football, his second season. because of his birthday (missed the cut off by two weeks), he will be playing with the older boys, "jv"; i was really hoping he could have one more season with the rookies. instead of being one of the biggest on the team he will be one of the smallest and that just makes me a little nervous.

today was cleaning day, nothing really eventful happened. connor and cash like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, while kenna likes peanut butter and honey. i know it's nothing to write home about but little things like this...little specific things about my kids make up the reasons i love them so...they make me smile.
(it's on my kitchen table 70%-80% of the time)

today we went to the meadows mall to check out the magnet jr. high school fair. we talked to some of the different school's staff about the programs offered and such. i didn't like anything about this. i don't like jr. high.

johnny took me shopping for our date; he bought me a pair of jeans and some flip flops (made from yoga mats...so comfy!). we went to CPK for dinner. he had salad and soup, i had a roasted veggie chicken salad. it was good! then we saw the dilemma; there were some funny parts (how could there not be with vince vaughn and kevin james?) but i thought it could have been shorter and i was super hungry and tired and so i really just wanted to go home. i do love going out with my babe though.

i finally got it done. i bought this at a friends garage sale like two years ago for only $40. it had a top shelf hutch thing that sat on top but i decided not to use that part. it looked like it was just the raw wood and in the front and on the sides, at the bottom it had southwestern type molding. (yuk!) johnny and my dad cut that off and it totally made the piece look different and a tons better. i gave it a paint job, bought some new baskets, put some super cute knobs from one of my favorite places and it's, i think...so perfect! i don't know why i waited so long to get this project done; it only took me a total of like three hours. i shoulda taken a before!

don't you just love when your sweetie brings you home a surprise, totally unexpected? we haven't even talked about it, he just saw a "need" and brought it home. now i can print all my papers for my callings and it won't be a burden. it was a great ending to my wonderful day today.

we invited our home teachers and a couple of friends over for a pizza throw down! we had way too much food but a really fun time together. we never had an official judging of the pizza but other than our family's favorite (Northside Nathan's), my vote was for the chicken b-que pizza. (i forgot where it came from though.)
